When you connect a thermostat, HomeCanon reads the runtime hours. The filter task closes itself when the appliance reports the work is needed — no manual check-in.
How it works

Step 1
Connect an ecobee, Nest, or SmartThings
OAuth flow from Settings → Smart Home. Read-only access; HomeCanon never controls the device.
Step 2
Map devices to appliances
Pick which ecobee corresponds to which HVAC system in HomeCanon.
Step 3
Tasks auto-complete from data
Filter due? When runtime hours cross threshold, the task closes itself and the next one schedules.
