A score is a glance. It doesn't require parsing a list — you can tell, in the half-second after you unlock your phone, whether your home is doing fine or whether something needs attention.
The breakdown is honest: ten points off for a task more than a week overdue, five points off for a task one-to-seven days late. No vanity metrics, no streak inflation. The score is the only signal that earns its place on the home screen.
